CELLAR SAVER...
A Sump Pump Failure Warning Device!
Everything that has moving parts must be maintained. It could be a
door hinge or wheel bearings. The Cellar Saver is no different. In fact,
the Cellar Saver may need a little extra attention because of where it
lives. Think about it, the Cellar Saver is placed in the worst possible
environment in your house! Do you have any idea what resides in a
sump well? You guessed it! Spiders, Centipedes, dust, dirt, mineral
deposits and moisture to name a few.
The Cellar Saver was designed to last a very long time. The only
thing that can cut its function short is to forget about it after its placed
in the sump well. The Cellar Saver should be tested at least once A
month. During the test, it would a good time to spray it with household
cleaner such as Mr. Clean and rinse it with a glass of warm water.
Center pin
Without removing the installed Cellar Saver, grasp the swing arm with
your fingers and push the center pin with your thumb. The swing arm
should come off the center pin (see photo's below). Inspect the center
pin and swing arm pivot hole for dirt or mineral deposits. Clean with
tooth brush and replace. Check for free movement of the swing arm. It
may be a good idea to lightly spray the center pin with silicone spray.
Test the unit at least once a month. More frequent cleaning may be
necessary in high mineral area's. ALWAYS CLEAN AFTER PUMP
FAILURE!
