1. Using the packaged 11 inch tie-wrap, encircle the base of the Cellar Saver where it is marked 'TIE' (see photo on right) and the vertical flow pipe and tighten securely. The proper height is about level with the sub floor drain tile. Make sure the swing arm moves freely after installation.
2. If you are installing the CS 2029 W, determine which set of wires you will be using. The white wire is COMMON, the RED wire is N/O or NORMALLY OPEN and the GREEN wire N/C or NORMALLY CLOSED. NOTE: When using the N/O circuit, the resistor on the zone is placed in parallel with the terminals. If you are using the N/C circuit the resistor is place in series with the wires.
3. Run wires from the security system to the selected wires of the Cellar Saver. Connect them to a 24 hour zone that reports to a central station and has an audible device that can be in the heard in the event of a sump pump failure.
4. After installation, test the unit by lifting the float. Make sure it sends a report to central station and that the audible can be heard. IT'S IMPERATIVE THAT THE ALARM SYSTEM BE MONITORED. If it's not monitored and you're not home, have a set of hip boots close by!
5. FISH TANK... The easiest way to attach the Cellar Saver in a fish tank is to mount it on a piece of 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe and insert it into the tank. You can also use the a piece of pipe strapping and mount it to the upper rear of the Cellar Saver. See details on the Data page.
